New York designers kicked off the fall ’12 runway season with a plethora of directional shoe styles. The collections were replete with chic new tough-girl boot silhouettes, as well as forward-looking pumps and fresh takes on classically feminine styles like the T-strap. The fall color palette emerged with a spotlight on shades of burgundy, mustard and hunter green, while embossed croc, woven leather, velvet and fur made a rich textural impression. For evening, the season’s best embellishments included jeweled heel treatments, art deco beading and degradé sequins. Here, we bring you our top 20 favorite shoe styles from the New York collections.
